This is an exact quote from Vern. " We have no parts for the struts or instructions to repair them. You will have to send them to Australia for repair." I called the owner of ESCO and he said that Lancair has the parts to repair the struts, the insides of the main and nose gear are the same. He was appalled that a customer had to call him for support. BTW, he is being very helpful and is going to give all the parts and support necessary to rebuild my struts on the plane. I do not have to pull them off. If anyone has leaking struts let me know and I will tell you how to fix them since Lancair will not support their own products. What is going on? Poor customer support is not the way to run a business. Rick [ Vern also told me to call dwatkins@escoindustries.com.au @ 011 61 298072244 when mine failed too. Had the same Esco phone call experience as Rick. http://rob.com/lancair/2003.04/DSCN5685.jpg http://rob.com/lancair/2003.04/DSCN5688.jpg but I ordered the "lancair IV seal kit" from Vern because it was in country and fit fine. the recommended oil is W30, but I used alittle lighter motor cycle strut oil (has anti foaming agents) and am happier with the results. I keep about 500-600PSI in the mains so it stands tall but less in the nose -Rob ]
