Was going to put a Stormscope in the LIVP but had a number of LIVP owners
say that they had lot's of problems with it (noise, inaccuracies).  One said

John, this is a copy of my May 2003 posting.  I have an e-glass 360 but would guess the carbon IVP couldn't be any worse regarding RFI.

-- May 03 LML posting--

In my 360, I mounted the wx500 antenna on a 12"Lx10"W- slight
taper(approx).020 ground plane in the very rear of the tail cone. The
sides of the ground plane actually curve up about 1" or so on the sides due
to me trying to fit the largest ground plane in that small area. The
antenna is sandwiched between the plane and the skin (ie, inside the plane)
I was told to mount the antenna as far back as possible and that it may be
very sensitive to position. I was also told that the BFG brand stormgear
is very sensitive to the RF interference in our E Glass planes and that
some installations perform poorly.

Luckily, mine installation performs very well. I get some slight
interference from the strobes in the 75mi or so range on the scope and it
always appears in the same spot. With the strobes off, it is very clean.

Hope this 360 data is helpful. BTW, I love the WX500 display on the Garmin
GNS 530.
