The buttons along the sides of the screens have FPL Menu ACTV HDG INFO NRST OBS Direct written* on them. The rotary encoder has a MUCH more solid feel to it so accidental "pushes" and turns are less frequent*. the same 512Meg ATA card powers the pr6-333 cpu like http://www.cellcomputing.com/doc/pnr/modules/PS-PR7-400500-FS-010.pdf with 64Meg* (up from 32Meg). The database info page comes up in ~30secs* and one pushes to accept these dates and because the xbow AHRS requires 90secs, one gets a timer page, I push again to get to the three normal pages, the flagged (no AHRS) look ahead, look down and engine page (push to loop between the three) I could swear the baro is set to field elev*, but I'm not sure with only 3 flights, INFO push yields freqs and runways, I grab atis and clearance and enter the first waypoint from the clearance via Direct. by now the xbow is unflaged and I can taxi. The look down mode terrain is *much* more detailed and fills the screen. (12arc sec from 24arc sec data). the VSI is solid* and there is a airspeed trend* bar just like the VSI on the left. One can quickly* "zoom" the look ahead view too. in look down and engine* page one can: Menu -> Fuel -> tabs runway heading*: HDG -> rotor -> push assigned alt*: Menu -> Bugs -> Alt -> rotor -> push peek EGT*: Menu -> reset peeks (turn the mixture out slowly until -50 appears next to one EGT bar, or I run -10 above 6k.. the reset peeks submenu is Direct, so I just hit Direct twice quickly) resume own nav*: HDG -> clear ACTV -> direct enter next waypoints*: ACTV -> add -> rotor -> push turn right 10 for traffic*: HDG -> rotor -> push clear direct*: HDG -> clear ACTV -> direct re-routing*: ACTV -> add -> rotor -> push direct get ATIS*: INFO -> push INFO told me runways, and the freq to get winds, so I know the active runway, its clear so I can expect the visual, but to get a feel for what that runway will look* like on the ground. OBS -> manual -> rotor(to runway heading) -> push this leaves the center of the airport in the flight plan and I fly to it by keep barring and track the same (green and red dots on top of one another, or flight path marker through the lolly pop) but I can "see" the extended runway on the mimi map to know which way to enter the traffic pattern. It can also overlay an HSI on the flight path marker, but I leave that off. You can also fly a parallel course x miles right or left of center. This is a major software and hardware (encoders) for CFS owners, pls consider having your vendor call kirk@direct2avionics.com to have your screens updated. Disclaimer: I own two screens and therefor have a vested interest in seeing this company succeed and continue to make improvements to the product I enjoy.. This means if you don't wanta enter your flight limits, calibrate your xbow, or map your own fuel tank, I'll likely come to your place (east of the mississippi) and do it for you.. by insuring good will for CFS owners on the east coast, I hope be kept in the loop when CFS wants to try something new! -- Utopian Maturity: Eternity, Liberty, Equality and now Fraternity & Altruism.
