I have done some early research on custom upholstery jobs for some of the new pressurized Lancairs and am frightened by the cost. I am frankly on a limited budget and was teased by an ad in an old Aircraft Spruce catalogue for kit upholstery specifically for certain homebuilt kit planes, including the Lancair 235, 320, 360--only to discover that they quit selling them two years ago for lack of sales. Further research led me to Jim Frantz, former editor of Lancair Network News and then to Marv Kaye who put me on your mailing list. My initial question would be, do any of you know of current makers of kit upholstery for a small Lancair? Or would any of you share your upholstery experiences or ideas that were based on a reasonable cost? Or it might even be possible that someone might know who was doing the work for Aircraft Spruce back in the days when they were attempting to market the upholsery kits. Thanks in advance for any helpful suggestions. Just in case someone cares to use snail mail, my address is Stanley D. Starr, 310 329th Ave. NE, Cambridge, MN 55008. Phone is 763 689-4235.
