Just an idle thought: would it be possible to build a step into the
trailing edge of the flaps as I seem to recall on the T-28 where I
think there is even an externally accessible switch for dropping the
flaps.
Anyway, I just wondered if any of the engineers on the list have
thought of this and/or done any sort of structural analysis to
determine if it would be feasible and what might need to be beefed
up. Seems like this could provide a lower weight, lower cost, less
complicated way to mount up.
