I began construction of my 320 in April 1989 and first flight was October 1997. During construction, it wasn't difficult to see that the "rubber doughnuts" simply presented the appearance of shock absorbers, in reality they are so stiff and over-compressed that they offer virtually no shock absorption. A true shock absorber must consist of a coil spring-dampener assembly. I felt that could be packaged in the same volume the rubber doughnuts now occupy, but it would take the resources of Lancair to get that designed and produced by a company such as Monroe. I don't understand why they haven't done that up to now. Thanks from all Lancair builders and drivers for your efforts. Bill Rumburg N403WR (Sonic BooM)
