For what it is worth :

I've placed my fuel shut-off valve on the rear side of the front
bulkhead/firewall, to have the fuel lines as short and straight as
possible.
The control shaft is extended with a piece 3/8" alu tubing, and the control
handle is on the panel. Neat and easily accessible.
