Your comments are right on the mark. Many builders focus on the inlet side of the cooler and neglect the outlet conditions. My 9 vein oil cooler is mounted in front of the #2 cylinder to take advantage of the pressure differential across
the engine. I actually had to restrict the outlet to about 4.5 sqin. because it was flowing too much air in the beginning.
