We represent every model (except the Sentry) from 235's to a Turbine IV P and 2 Columbias. There are two Subaru's being installed in LNC2's. (One of which will certify on Wed!) There are about 25 guys total with a regular attendance in the high teens. We also have several out of state participants. We usually meet at an airport project to allow builders and flyers to get together. Our mission beyond having lunch is very informal. We normally just shoot a million pictures and discuss the hurdles we are overcoming. Our next meeting will be unique in that we'll be dove tailing on a local EAA Ch Fly-In in Pecan Plantation. This is a great flyin community! Please pop in if you're looking for a fun weekend getaway. If you'd like to come but this weekend is out drop me an email and I'll keep you in mind for our June get together. The following is our info flyer: Our next meeting is this Saturday 4/3 in Pecan Plantation (0TX1). They are hosting their annual fly-in. There will be food on the field and a spot landing contest. (contest, did someone say contest?) Of particular interest to the Lancair guys will be Jerry Knapps Lancair 360 and Bob Satterwhites Columbia. Jerry's plane is hangared on the North East Corner of the field. Bob's is just a few hangars south also on the east side of the field. I'll be shooting for a 9:00 arrival to mingle amongst the numerous homebuilts on the field. Two planes you may want to see are Dick Keyt's Polen Special and Don Saints Glasair II. These two 360 turbo monsters routinely put me to shame at the races. Great guys with excellent performing machines. The "formal" portion of the meeting will start at 12:00 in Bob Satterwhites hangar (if it's ok with Bob). Our speaker will be Rich Chiappe of Sky-Tek Starter. He will give us a brief pro's and con's discussion of their starters. (BTW, they're great! I own two!) Traffic at Pecan is standard. They have 3000 ft of good pavement. Taxi-way does not extend full length, thus watch out for back taxiing aircraft. NOTAMS: The Commanche Peak Nuclear power plant is located West South West of Pecan. Additionally, P-49 (Crawford, TX) is not to terribly far to the South of Pecan (as evidenced by friends of Pecan getting busted occasionally). Don't get hung up in either of these two FAR mudholes.
