Regarding the weight of the ES main gear fairings,
   I too was concerned with the stresses they'd take, particularly at the
point where the bolt goes through the side to the axle.  We bonded in a
heavy washer to the area and reinforced it with several layers of carbon to
beef it up and hopefully prevent cracking.
