Rick, I just started my instrument rating -- passed the written a couple of weeks ago. Could you comment on how you fly an ILS in a 360 (speeds, power settings, when the gear and flaps come down, etc.). Thanks.
Hi Mike,
Please note that I only have 46 hours of instrument time!
With lots of trial and error and with help from Clark Baker (LNC2 360 IFR pilot), it use the following settings:
- Pre-Approach Mode @ approx 15 nm from IAF: 20 MP 2,200 - 2,300 RPM
- Approach Mode @ approx 10 nm from IAF): 18 MP 2,300 - 2,400 RPM (160 - 140 knots IAS)
- Approach Mode @ approx 5 nm from IAF): 15 MP 2,400 RPM (140 - 120 knots IAS)
- At 140 knots, +10 deg of flaps comes down (from reflex mode, negative flaps)
- At one dot above the glide slope, gear comes down @ approx 120 knots IAS.
- approx 500 to 750 fpm descent until DH @ approx 110 knots IAS.
Works most of the time... Clark and others with more experience may want to modifiy or add to the above.

PS Good luck on your rating and wish me luck on my checkride next week ;-)
