After listening to an annoying high pitched “a-a-a” sound from the strobes in my headsets (Bose X) for the last several hundred hours, I tried a fix suggested by David Buckwalter at Avionics Systems.  He suggested an auto noise filter installed in-line on the 12v + & - leads to the strobe power supply (a Whelen Comet Flash).  To my surprise, ground testing with and without the filter showed that it completely eliminated the strobe noise in the audio system.  The filter is Radio Shack 270-051B, about 3-4ozs and slightly larger than a D-cell battery.
