Hi everyone,

Just a quick note to let you all know that I've just finished uploading the
last few weeks textfile archives to the LML homepage, and that there are a
few new files in the Attachments area as well.  There is a link to the FAA
Bolt Torque chart provided by Scott Dahlgren (thanks, Scott) and a couple
new GIFs as well.  I found the schematics and circuit notes for some
multi-LED position drivers which were provided to me a long time ago by the
author, a gentleman named Billy Lightsey.  The original schematic was
published in Sport Aviation, December, '93, and I contacted him for
additional information... a copy of his letter and everything I have on
these circuits is included.  The obvious applications are as position
indicators for flaps or trim tabs, or anything else you might like to track
position on.  The means of providing the actual sensing is left up to the
individual user, although figuring out a way to mount and move the shaft to
a potentiometer shouldn't prove too large a challenge, I trust.  Anyway, I
hope you enjoy them.

PS... it seems that the searchable archives have a considerable gap in
them, as no posts have been appended since 11/20/98.  I have contacted the
archive administrator and we're going to have everything brought back up to
date in a few weeks.  (He has just moved to CA and is living out of boxes
and a sleeping bag, so I agreed to cut him a little slack and give him a
few weeks to get his act back together.)  Sorry for any inconvenience this
is causing any of you out there, please feel free to use the text archives
in the meantime, as they are right up to date.
