For best brake feel, use as little flex hose as possible. Flexible hose
expands much more than metal tubing when pressurized, therefore the more
hose, the more deflection you will need at the brake pedal. You also
want to use small diameter tubing and hose for three reasons: It is
lighter, its volume changes less when pressurized and its total
volume is less. Hydraulic fluid is compressible, so you want as little
of it between the pedal and the caliper as possible.
