Transponder Under pilot floor board. This occasionally is blanked. I
think by the carbon fiber in the spar caps. I do have a Weir transponder
antenna in a wing, but it won't work. I have made several Weir
transponder antennas and none of them would work. The rest of Weir's
stuff is the greatest and all my antenna cost less than $10.

ELT Weir dipole made of  # 18 wire in baggage compt behind passenger

All antennae have great VSWR readings. I had trouble with no range on the
com when I first started.  The problem turned out to be the cheap
intercom (Softcom) I had installed. The cheap intercoms have
no filtering
or RF caps and in a RF transparent airplane it fouled the transmitter.
I have seen this in various other airplanes subsequently including a
C140 that had skylights that were inline with the com antenna and
the intercom.
