Folks,
It's racing
season! The Sun 100 Air Race is April 3rd this year. Of the 5 major
fly-in races last year the LNC2 competition left a little to be desired.
Last years Sun 100 had at least 10 LNC2's sitting on the ramp with very few of
us to fight off the RV's. Shame on you! Let's get serious this year
and show'm why we like glass!
Rumour has it that
Dave Ander's RV-4 will be on hand to humble us all. He's claiming a mere
270 mph. However, I think that's with his strobe lights
removed. Of course he wouldn't ethically consider such an FAA violation
during the Sun 100. If we really fall into good fortune the Hammer
brothers won't show up.
How about it
George? It'll be great to see you. That is of course, if I can crane
my neck around far enough to find you back there with that new
slab-O-cowl. You go ahead, glass, micro, carbon, epoxy, throw a couple
bids on the outside for good measure, just keep add'n weight. Personnally,
I've traded in my 8 year old (Daniel) in for an 11 year old (Nicholas)
autopilot (about a 20 lb hit) plus I've added Mr Spry's shocks (another
couple of pounds). I'll be lucky to get this lead sled off the ground by
the end of the runway.
Come on Ravinski,
Rumburg, Olson, Harrelson, Lipps, & Krueger- Let's
Play!
Bob, My house is
available for your two day cross country. No model airplanes airworthy
however. We'd be glad to have any of you North Western folks
stop by Ft Worth enroute. On the other hand, did I mention that I made
Orlando to Apple Valley last year for Copperstate in one day? It was more
fun than the race which BTW offered me occasion to beat Klaus using his own
ignition. Heh, Heh, Heh!
Let's go "Belt
Man". Tighten that thing down and show us what that Super
Charger can really do!
Dawning my new Zetex
suit as I type. Bring it on!
Larry Henney LNC2 IO-360 Ft Worth, TX
PS: Obviously,
a slight breach in social graces. I'll hereafter try harder to
behave.
