Doubtful, don't know.

Doubtful. If 4 foot probes were angled to use the fuel bay from the lowest inboard position to the highest outboard position, there is no way to remove it thru the wheel well and there is no way to add longer probes without establishing new angles/routes.
do they fail often?
My VM probes have not failed in 8 years of use and 500 hours.
do the seals leak?
Not the VM ones.
are they accurate?
They are as accurate as the level to which you wish to calibrate them. VM probes produce a digital frequency based on the resistance/capacitance circuit at the probe. one reports the frequencies related to gallons to VM and they burn a ROM chip for you. If you are getting a VM engine monitor, it would make sense to get the VM fuel monitoring system also.
stable?
Get the same results every time - says full when full, empty when empty and displays accurate gallons in between.
