Greetings Everyone:
One of the areas that can be pretty tricky and time consuming to get right
is initial engine setup. Fuel flow settings, turbo controller adjustments,
governor and prop
limits all work together to produce maximum rated horsepower. TCM requires
that all these be checked before the first flight, and some require accurate
test equipment to adjust properly. These issues pertain to turbocharged and
normally aspirated engines.
On April 19, 2003, AirCrafters will host Andy Baker, tech rep for TCM, who
will spend several hours describing how to go about these procedures. All
are invited to attend. Andy and TCM understand that this course will be
aimed at homebuilders who are installing their own engines.
There is no fee. Watsonville EAA may host a $5 BBQ lunch.
We will have a IV-P on hand to demonstrate if necessary, but if someone
volunteers an aircraft more suited to the group we will use it instead.
For airport and driving directions, please see www.AirCraftersLLC.com.
Please RSVP by April 16, 2003.
I look forward to seeing you here!
