The 1/4" rod is not a problem.  Remember that when you install your rud= der, you must put a washer on the bottom bolt before you screw in the tapped= tubing to secure the rudder.  The tubing is the same size as the botto= m bushing and if you smack your rudder, the tube can push out the bushing.
<BTW:=A0 the manual also shows bushings for the -3 bolts attaching the rudder cable to the T hinge.=A0 I don't have bushings for that, and the
hole is sized for -3 already???=A0 I think no bushing?>

I've never seen one.
