Impossible to build a 235 with an O-320 that comes in at under 1000# if it has any radios at all.
Mine came in at 1033# with wings and tail built (interior structure and fuel capacity) like a L-320/360.
Then I put in the interior, flashlights, fire extinguisher, spare tire, small tool kit and charts. The empty weight is now 1056#.
Then add 53 gallons of fuel and I end up at 1374# before I ever get in it. With me and a small amount of baggage, I end up at a takeoff weight just over 1620#.
So... If my wings and tail are the same (structurally) as the L-320, what's wrong with setting the max GW and Landing Weight at the same levels that the later design is? The landing gear is the same, except just shorter.
