Hello D,
I put low level float switches in my wing tanks. A "wing low" light is
illuminated by the power from the transfer pump running through the float
switch. When the tank is empty (or very nearly so), I will get the light if
the pump is on. Once I turn the transfer pump off, the light goes out. The
light warns you only if you're trying to pump from an empty wing. The full
schematic (missing two isolation diodes) of my fuel management system is in
the archives.
