Does anyone know of someone fitting speed brakes on a 360?  It seems that
there may not be enough room to fit.  Also, how about spoilers?

I will echo Bob Smiley.  Squeezing speedbrakes into this airplane would be
adding complexity and weight to a very fine airplane.  After building (six
years) and flying (seven years) my 320 I will say that planning ahead is the
best way to conserve energy and get set up for the approach and landing.
There have been times when I have found it hard to comply with a speed
requirement, but controllers will work with you.  I would not recommend
building speed brakes into the 320.

Sea story.  I (and wife) were decending into Charlotte Int'l. VFR.  I like
to go fast so I was ripping along and starting to think about how I was
going to get down to gear speed.  The app. controller asked me my indicated.
It was about 195 kts.  He asked me to slow to below 150 for interval.  I
loved it.  My wife hated it and won't let us go into Int'l again.  I'm on
the left runway behind a C-130, to our right, close, is a 767 for the right
runway, then there is something on the runway on the roll.  Busy.  We stay
above any wake turbulence and land long then are told to expedite clearing
the runway.  Airplanes all over.  Speed brakes sometimes would come in handy
but I resort to pulling up and/or G to reduce airspeed and my approach to
some airports look like a sine wave.  And I try not to get into a corner as
above.  As always, one option is to go around, get things under control and
have another go at it.  I avoid big airplane airports.  Charlotte now is
Rock Hill, SC and a rent car.
