A long time ago, when I was a brand new First Officer (don't ask me how long ago..I can't remember!) with AAL, my favorite Captain told me his secret," Kid, all you have to do to make consistently good landings is to descend down to about 1/8th of an inch or so from the runway, level off, then ease off the power as you are setting up a slow descent rate."
