Like yourself, I wonder if the = retractable step=20 will really work!  We have got everything working in the shop, but = can't=20 get the step to fully extend and overcome the spring actuated locking=20 mechanism.  We, as Mark Mahanke suggested, wound the spring a = little=20 tighter by raising the hole for the end of the spring, but it still = doesn't=20 cause the step to fully extend.  Just maybe, the airstream will = cause the=20 extension - MAYBE!  There will have to be plenty of lubrication on = all=20 pivot points for sure.  We also polished the end of the locking = tang so the=20 friction would be reduced when it tried to cam over to lock the step in = the down=20 position.  Long story short, we have done all we can think of, so = if anyone=20 has any suggestions, we would love to hear them.
