As a builder, I'd be particularly interested in aspects of flying that
relate to improvements or changes that could be made during construction.
For instance, although Jim White and I have invested considerable time and
effort to build air conditioners into our planes, I'm not sure we'll gain
the expected benefit--a cool interior--during the demanding conditions of
ground ops with the engine at idle. Any comments from people with installed
systems would be helpful. For another, we installed the retractable step,
but I've seen enough of these things permanently fastened up to indicate
that it may not work as intended, or perhaps not as reliably? Comments?
