I think it's a good idea to discuss the "flying" of our planes as well as the "building" of them. For those still building, maybe it'll provide inspiration. For those flying, it'll provide more interest to the list, and maybe add to the overall safety and enjoyment of our planes. Our 320 doesn't like to slow down in the pattern. Seems that you have 3 choices in methods to slow down; 1. Bring the MP down to around 13"- 15" several miles from the pattern while at pattern altitude and reduce speed very slowly, 2. Pull the power back lower, maybe to idle (last choice) or 3. Enter the pattern a little low and climb to pattern altitude at 13"- 15" MP or so. Any other techniques? I'm always interested in finding out about new and interesting places to fly. Anyone interested in a Bahamas fly-out this winter? We had a great time down there last year at Pittstown Point on Crooked Island. Runway and ocean just outside of your room, what could be better?
