There are airbags available for paragliding (the pilot wears it on his back) which are CO2 deployed and weigh just over 2 lbs. I believe one of the manufacturers is CYGNUS. Has anyone ever heard of a unit such as these being modifed to provide protection in a homebuilt airplane? And what are the thoughts of the protection it would afford the cockpit occupants in a crash? -Ed Sikora
