The owner was reluctant (he had wrongly been taught "not to") to use the HIGH boost in the climb. He was using 35"MP x 2550RPM and 35 gph full rich at a TIT of about 1425F. It really needed about 37 gph to properly cool. HIGH boost gave us 39GPH and a TIT of 1280F - - too much fuel. We manually leaned it to about 37GPH and had the TIT at about 1310 to 1330F for the climb... "... just right" good! At, 10,500' level, we set up at 33.5" x 2350 we ran about 17.5 gph for about 255 HP and about 50 to 75F LOP, with the hottest CHT about 365F. We were indicating 200 to 202KIAS with about 55F OAT. (hot mother down here, today) Didn't have time to go higher. The engine compartment needs a lot of work to get the baffling correct. I suspect we could bring those CHTs down a good 25 to 35F with some serious baffling effort. Regards, George
