Graham Nutt's solution sounds interesting.  The Legacy canopy latch mechanism is pretty much the same as the 360, so Graham's innovation should work.  Another suggestion I heard while talking to a fellow Legacy builder was to add material (possibly several layers of glass) underneath the canopy joggle on the inside of the fuselage, above the exterior latch handle and in front of the seat back.  Then on the outside remove just enough material (most likely using a small drum sander) where the joggle meets the side of the fuselage to form a small pocket under the edge of the canopy.  Make the pocket just large enough to insert your fingertips so you can lift up on the canopy.  I haven't decided what to do on my Legacy yet.  Right now I'm wrestlng with the nose gear strut alignment.  Sometimes C-clamps just don't want to cooperate.
