The wife and I just returned from our month long vacation.  What a great
time and a tremendous flying experience.  We really appreciate all the
advice and words of wisdom from the fellow listers.

We flew from our home in Charlotte to Kansas City, Aspen, Boulder, Las
Vegas, San Diego, Grand Canyon, Santa Fe, Memphis and then back home.  A
total of about 30 - 40 hours of flying (I haven't added it up yet) that went
wonderfully well - only one minor problem the whole time.  The plane ran
beautifully, and although still a too slow it has tremendous cross-country
capability (900 NM legs are no problem... for the plane!).

We returned to Charlotte to land in IFR minimums - the only crappy weather
landing of the whole trip.  Although did have some fairly severe IFR leaving
Aspen, at which time I experienced the shocking sensation (literally) from
my Bose headset.  Must have built up some static electricity and the headset
shocked me, fairly seriously, numerous times.  Zap, zap, zap.  One ear then
the other.  Had to remove the headset and wear my wives (hers wasn't having
a problem - maybe because mine is a hard-wired version and hers is battery
operated???).

I also had a problem with the AOA freaking out in that same situation.  It
started making a loud buzzing noise and the display started freaking.
Cleared up when I got out of the pouring rain.

Next trip is to Japan, Australia and New Zealand in late October...
unfortunately, not in the Lancair.  Any builders in those areas want to
catch up??
