Palomar is along the coast near La Costa. A bit on the upper crust side with biz jet traffic and higher prices but very nice. Palomar us about 40 minutes north of the city. Montgomery is a centrally located airport, located near downtown San Diego. Lindbergh is not a very good choice as they are not very GA friendly and the parking is just OK. Gillespi is out in the east county and can be a bit warm but the people are great. It is an epicenter for Homebuilts and classic restorations. There is also a very active Lancair builder assist shop on the field two doors west of the airport restaurant (cafe is more like). A very cool shop and the home of a recent "first flight" aircraft built by Skip Slater. There is a very nice jet center on the north side of the field if you prefer a bit more pampering. Hope this helps. scot
