Is this what the manufacturer recommends?  The reason I ask is that
Vaseline will dissolve some types of "rubber".  I know there are
specific warning against using Vaseline with latex "rubber".  I'd
assume that any washer, hose or fitting intended for use with a
petroleum based hydraulic fluid is safe from Vaseline, but how would I
know for sure?
