If I can carry 110 gallon of fuel that gives me enough gas for the trip + alternate + 1hr reserve + 10% extra. If I can manage to takeoff at 2100lbs I can carry a life raft(light!!) some (light !!) survival supplies, and some food and water for the 10-12 hr trip. Its a little over 2000 nms from oakland to hilo, which appears to be the best route for me anyway. I expect I can make it over the bridge, but probably only on a calm clear day !! I'm hoping if I plan to leave at 5am I can make some arragements with bay aproach for an immediately turn out over the pacific. Maybe... I haven't really loooked into the regulations much other then just reading the fars though so there might be some issues I haven't considered. I am indeed already flying my 360 ( about 250 hrs ), but I imagine a few changes would be needed to make the crossing !! Among other things my current fuel transfer pumps are a single point of failure ( and I've already replaced two of them !! ). But stuff like that is easy to fix. Lots of folks suggested taking the wings of and shipping the plane, but getting to hawaii is not the point, flying myself to hawaii is !! Of course if anyone reading this list has an aircraft carrier they'll let me land on and refuel well then I'd love to consider that plan !! Ken > That's fantastic! I too have had inspirations of going the super long > haul in my 360. I'd love to here peoples input on the higher math. How > many miles are we talkin?
