Dan, I agree. The jets I flew all had boost pump switches guarded on--so I
never had to mess with the switch. I do actually use the pump as you
recommend.

jets I've worked on, fuel pumps are running all the time.
if I'm gong to lug [a fuel pump] around all the time, I might as well use it.
