Dan,
I'm not sure I understand what your suggesting regarding bonding.
I've closed my HS and am now working on the elevator.  I haven't
seen any other options to closing these parts other than bonding.
If your talking about whether to finish closing them now or later,
I'd suggest closing them now.  You'll need the closed HS to build
the elevators.
