Yes the Nav. antenna in the wing was an option as mentioned by Colin Jones,
we had originally intended to put the antenna in the small tail which came
with the kit. However when we changed to a Mk II we started inquiring as to
where other people had placed them as by this time the wings were well
advanced and were finished prior to any work being done on the tail. At the
time there was also a lot of talk about the reliability of these antennas
and the thought of it being in the top of the baggage compartment and
accessible during the avionics testing was considered a benefit. We would
have had a surgery to do though if the com. Antenna gave us a problem, as
that is in the vertical tail.

To date all antennas seem to be functioning well, anyone else got their
Nav. Antenna in the fuselage ?

To all those of you who usually communicate with me on my regular e mail
address of Michael.Holland@Halliburton.com please continue to do so. This
new address of mtholland@halnet.com  is one I use when I'm in Angola as I
can't access my normal one. However all messages to the former are bounced
to me and also retained in the normal mailbox. It just makes it easier to
respond from this one.

Wishing all you Lancair folks a very Merry Christmas and Clear Skies and
Safe Flying for 1999.

Regards,

Michael Holland
