Would one of your aero engrg types out there give me a hint as to what
should happen to control deflections and flap travel if one were to convert
the standard flap and aileron system on an LC20 to a flaperon system? I
assume you wouldn't need as much flap travel and that the amounts of
aileron deflection would be reduced considerably due to their being full
span as opposed to 1/3 span. Any insights regarding this conversion would
be greatly appreciated. (I understand that this has been done already with
much success, greatly simplifying the control system in the process and
eliminating all the tubes and bellcranks that normally run through or are
situated in the wheel wells and wing tanks. This is part of a conversion
to a center console mounted control stick that I've been fiddling with for
some time. Just need more aero-type details to make it a reality.)
TIA,
