Rob, et al,
We've been doing something very similar to this (painting the interior
early-on) in all the aircraft we've assisted with. Instead of using Jeffco
tank sealer though, we're using a two-part epoxy primer called DuPont
CorLar. It can be brushed on or rolled on, levels out nicely, and one coat
covers everything. It is very durable, and there is nothing better than a
white interior as a background to work in. Every little drop of fluid is
easily detected, and its color tells you instantly what it is. Dropped
washers stand out like sore thumbs. Believe me, working inside a well-lit,
high-contrast fuselage is nice after you've spent some time inside a
dull-black carbon-fiber tube...
Best Regards,
Larry Graves
