It was suggested to me (way too late to be any use to
me) that the access cover could be on the wing and not
on the aileron or flap. These covers can be placed on
the lower surface of the wing. Thus they could be made
as large as possible and if they came loose they
wouldn't interfere with the control surface's travel.
The rudder is another question, as the access covers
would be plainly visible.
