These machines where mostly piloted by ex- or still active military pilots. As an instructor I know the dangers of a duel system but I'm also used to fly from the "other" seat. For me the choice of preparing the plane to sit in the right seat was personal. There is a very fine line between usefulness and just adding weight, I went through the howl saga of designing a new panel with inserts and all the bells and whistles but at the end of the day I might just decide not to use it. A aircraft which is light "in weight" and straight has a certain quality that's very desirable. Consider your actions very careful, it is easy to learn, its more difficult to remove excess weight.
