My nose gear won't go all of the way down and lock on emergency extension.
I have changed the gas strut, the hydraulic strut and the dump valve.
There seems to be to much friction in the system to allow the gear to come down all of the way. Sometimes it even stops half way.
We plan on disconnecting everything from the gear and seeing if the nose gear bearing itself is free. After that we will reconnect items one at a time. The mechanics think that they should put grease fittings in the nose gear bearing. The plane has about 650 hours of use.
Any help and or ideas will be appreciated. We are starting to work on the plane on Monday.
Thanks in Advance,

[After 650 hours of operation, and if the gear was free-falling properly up until now, it seems obvious that something has changed. I'd be looking closely at the phenolic hard-points on the side of the nosegear tunnel... when mine were misaligned at first my gear wouldn't free-fall either. Could be that one of those points has worn into an oval allowing that shaft to move out of alignment. I'll be anxious to hear what the ultimate solution turns out to be.
