Well,  The next time you taxi to parking, stopped with the engine at idle
pull the prop back to coarse pitch and shut off the engine - then check the
pitch.

All this is fine if you run out of gas, but if the engine stoppage is
combined with loss of oil, then just pucker up and look for something close
by.
