Kirk:

On that sorry subject, we have had such incredible damages occur
to well-packaged items shipped and received via UPS that we have
ABSOLUTELY refused to use them for any further shipping.
We found FedEx to be much better, and cheaper as well.
Example: shipping a 130-lb crate (PSRU) from WA to ME,
two-day, insured for $10k, cost $50 less with FedEx
and we have never had any damage occur to
FedEx-shipped packages.

UPS is the incarnation of the fully-developed, finely-honed,
union-cultivated attitudes of entitlement-to-being-
paid-for-physical-presence, absent any evidence of
responsibility for accomplishing these (demanding) tasks
with any measure of quality.
