I haven't had any fuel pressure fluctuations but I think your problem
actually is "fluctuations in pressure at the pump output" as you wrote.
In my old EPI-800 manual from 1987 they state "For INJECTED engines, the
fuel pressure is measured at the fuel inlet to the fuel controller assembly"
which is well downstream of the engine driven fuel pump.
I am using the RSA-5ADI injector (as you probably are) and have taken the
fuel pressure from the aft side of the filter housing where there is a fuel
pressure connection as shown in their instructions.
I have a steady indication of 27 psi with both pumps on and a drop to 25
when the boost pump is switched off.
