With the 3-blade Hartzell, it was almost impossible in my first ES to keep the nose wheel from thumping hard onto the runway after touchdown, even with stick full back and full up trim. Most Super ES's are nose-heavy, so saving weight 'way out there in front makes a big difference. 3ES flares much better, and I can hold the nose off until a lot of the airspeed has bled off after landing. I have the 4-blade MT (and yes, it looks marvelous!), which comes in at about 22 pounds lighter than the 3-blade Hartzell. Only beef is that MT did a rotten job getting the spinner centered -- the run-out must be around a quarter of an inch!
