A few builders have told me they just permanently bonded the mount onto the wingtip. This is attractive, because the fit of the light mount onto the wingtip is not very good. Other than having to take off the wingtip to get to the wiring and fuel tank vent, this sounds like a good idea. Also, the lens is not flush with the wingtip surface (the lens is below the surface of the wingtip.) The manual says to use cork washers to expand the lens to make it flush, but that doesn't seem very classy. Any reason not to build up the mount with micro?
