Mike,
My 320 is far from completed, but I asked the same question about what would
be the best material to finish the wheel wells with. A couple people
suggested Zolotone (trunk paint). I took their suggestion and finished the
wheel wells with a charcoal grey colored Zolotone. I'm totally happy with
the way it turned out. The finish is rough, resistant to scratching, looks
totally professional, and I was able to brush it on instead of having to
spray it. You have to use a very light brush and don't worry about how
thick the paint is when it goes on, but brushing can and does give a very
nice finish. The stuff is terribly strong and some sort of breather is
definitely recommended. I found a paint mask was ok for about 10
minutes...then I had to vacate the shop for the rest of the day.
As far as the metal parts. Alodine or anodize is the way to go with
aluminum. IMHO
Curtis Krouse N753K (about 30% and another 130% to go.)
