Mike, that static rpm is fine for the MT prop. Factory confirmed it for
me after my first flight a year ago. DO NOT touch the prop pitch stop or the
governor adjustment or you are in for a merry-go-round of tail chasing likely
resulting in an engine overspeed on your first flight.
With your prop where it is, just make sure you get a normal prop cycle
with the blue lever on runup to confirm governor operation. In my case, the prop would not cycle more than a very slight rpm and we failed to recognize the significance of this - which was that the governor was set
way too high.
If you pull the governor control attachment arm to attach the control cable
clevis, make darn sure to mark the orientation on the shaft. These were painfull
lessons for me on the first flight and there's no need for you to repeat them.
I think you'll find the complete write-up in the archives.
