>I am fitting the lower skin, which seems to want to have the outboard
trailing edge level with the aileron-in-trail and the inboard edge

where inducing a twist is easy.<

Your comment about the inboard edge being 5/8" up from the fillet concerns
me.  My inboard flap is flush with the fillet.  The fillet already reflects
the reflex on my LNC2.  You need to call Lancair for a clarification on
this.  As I recall some of the very old kits came with the fillet/fairing
not reflexed.  How old is your kit?

My aircraft was built perfectly straight.  I shot everything with a transit
and held the both wing incidences to within 1/32 nd of an inch at all
points.  I also straightened out the vertical stabalizer which came with
an unintensional twist.

My aircraft flys straight with the left flap drooped 1/8" at the inboard
fillet/fairing. This is a very common adjustment to offset engine/prop
torque acting on the fuselage.

If I were going to build another perfectly straight airplane, I would droop
the left outboard flap and the inboard aileron about 1/8" to counteract
torque.  Another alternative would be to droop the left flap/fuselage
fillet/fairing by 1/8" which would be even easier.

I actually tried to put a twist in the flap after the fact by heating the
entire flap with heat lamps and applying a slight twist.  This was not
successful so I live with the drooped flap.  It still bothers me though and
I intend to take the flap to a friends shop that has a large autoclave.

With regard to VFR flights:
Let's hope that our people realize the Preamble of the Constitution
requires the government to ensure domestic tranquility and provide for the
common defence.  Only then can we be truly free.  The fact that
trerrorists, who were already on government watch lists, had free run of
the world, our great country, and our pilot training facilities is beyond
my comprehension.  What have our elected officials and their appointees
been doing for the past five years while these terrorost activities have
been in planning?  I'm pissed, are you?

[While this isn't the place for political discussion, (as there are plenty
of those available elsewhere on purpose-built mail lists and websites),
I agree and am pissed as well.  If anybody cares, I made a small change
to the front page of my personal website last night that reflects that
fact and you can get there by simply replacing the /maillist.html
at the end of the regular LML website address with /home.html to
see the non-frames, non-Java version.  A new link has been added and I'll
leave you to locate it if you're so inclined.

Please don't clog the list with political responses, but if anyone would
like me to setup a temporary mail list for the discussion of these matters
I'd be happy to do so.  Please let me know via private email at
marvkaye@olsusa.com and I'll get to work on it.  Thanks...
