The "AOA" in the SFS is actually referred to as a Pitch Limit Indicator.  It
IS a part of the system and has not been removed.  If you currently have the
SFS and the Pitch Limit Indicator is not being depicted, go into the ground
maintenance page, select "set aircraft and engine limits" and turn the stall
warning flag on.  The system works great!
